glimpses of the 4th

So I’m behind the 8 ball a little here. July is more than half over and I’m just getting around to posting about our 4th. But I’m gonna share anyway.

I love Independence Day and what it stands for. My patriotic heart swells with a little more pride than usual on that day. Truth be told, it’s actually one of my very favorite holidays. I know that’s weird, but when you think about it…it’s one of the few holidays without all the expectations. No extensive decorating, no presents to buy, no cards to mail, no hoopla. Just a true holiday in every sense of the word.

We had a perfect 4th of July. Low key, laid back family fun…the best kind. Our first 4th living back in the states in a couple of years.

Here are some glimpses of our day.

The new factory/farmhouse table from The Frenchman’s Wife’s booth atย Kane Co. Flea Market. L.O.V.E.

The industrial cart that I found at the Room 363/Whimsy booth atย Kane Co. flea market made the perfect drink station!

My husband’s world famous ribs. Smoked on the Big Green Egg. Best he’s ever done. Deeee. LISH!

Sweet corn

Cowboy Caviar

Redneck parade ๐Ÿ˜‰

Kids and grandparents

our family

the kiddos and Riley and Muffin

Thanks for letting me share with ya!

Check back later this week for highlights from our trip to Forks!

Happy Sunday. xo

  1. Simply lovely! As a New Englander, there’s something romantic about an oldfashioned midwestern farmhouse that sounds so nice… Adore the factory table & cart! Btw, where’s the old fashioned hammock between the trees? ๐Ÿ˜‰
