vintage hospital table

Found this uh-mazing little hospital table at the Arboretum Antiques Market last weekend. It was a grab ‘n go purchase. You know, the kind where you don’t have to stand there and hem and haw and figure out where you’re gonna put it…blah, blah, blah.

Nope. I grabbed that baby up and handed over the moolah.

Sure, it had it’s flaws but nothing the tiniest little bit of elbow grease couldn’t fix.

Plus, the history and the incredible coolness of this piece more than made up for its imperfections.

I sanded down the top.

And rubbed Dark Wood Briwax onto it.

Then buffed it really well and put it in its new home.

Easy Peasy.

Nice! It looks rather rustic and high-end in its own way. Seems perfect for your home! Great find!

  2. oh my, be still my heart! that is GORGeous with all that [love] patina’d metal. i don’t blame you for grabbing and running with that piece!

i also love your studio worktable (prev. post). i love the metal base on your…i have a thing for galvanized or metal anything.
we found a worktable at a garage sale years ago and it had been USED in a garage…lots of dings, paint, etc. ours has 4 inch legs and weighs a ton. we added castors for height and now it makes its home in my studio/guest room. my only regret is that there was two of them ($25 each) and i only took one!
    love your blog and creativety,
